Dolan Auto and JWES 5th graders raise money
Our 5th graders entered the Dolan Auto body online project with the hopes of raising money for an Activeboard. They then worked together to create the video to post on line and then were diligent about asking people to donate to their project. Thanks to the families of Whitehead and the Dolan Auto group who doubled with they raised our fifth graders received a large check for $4,956 to put two new Activeboads into the 5th grade classrooms! Way to go Mr. VanKirk and Mr. Squire's classes .

Eagle Scout donates safety buckets to JWES
Local Eagle Scout, Dakota, choose Whitehead ES as the recipient of his Eagle Scout project. Dakota created Code Red Emergency buckets for each classroom at our school.
If our teachers and students ended up in a lockdown these buckets could be openned and inside are items such as snacks, water, flashlight with batteries etc.
In order to complete this project, Dakota raised the funds to purchase all of the needed items for each bucket. He raised $150 more than was needed, so he chose to donate a check for $150 to Whitehead ES so that we can replenish any of the buckets or the items in them as needed.
We are so grateful that Dakota thought of us in completing his Eagle Scout project and we congratulate him on his accomplishment.

Flu shot & TDap clinic comes to Whitehead
Hundreds of Whitehead students and staff got their flu shot or flu mist in our school library at our annual School Shot Clinic.
All 6th graders will need a TDap shot before entering middle school, so many of our families took advantage of this opportunity to get the TDap shot for their child.
After students get their shot they sit with adult supervision in the library and enjoy a candy cane. Somehow the candy cane helps the shot pain go away !
