October Students of the Month

2 students from each class were chosen as student of the month for October. These are some of the students who are displaying our schoolwide positive Whale Behaviors.   The PFA recognized them with a pizza luncheon! Congratulations !

Whitehead students learn how to make our school a caring place for everyone.

Miss Teen Nevada talks with students about how to be kind to everyone and to turn to adults for help. "Tell someone and keep telling someone until things get better. " 

The Kids on the block puppets and volunteers from Assistance League of Nevada spent time with the students learning about ways to be kind and to treat everyone with respect.

October is Bullying Prevention Month at Whitehead School

The Whitehead school family will be taking time this month to learn about ways to prevent bullying and what to do if you are being bullied by someone. A common message to students is to go to an adult  ( or a few adults) for help, because that is what the adults are here for, to help and support you.

• We will be having a school wide assembly with Miss Teen Nevada.
• Each grade will get to see a live puppet show with The Kids on the Block puppets.
• Every classroom will be doing a lesson on bullying prevention.
• Each student will be creating a T-Shirt design and these t-shirt messages will decorate our hallways.

A Bullying Newsletter, from our school counselor, will be coming home to each family so that families can continue to conversation about how to be your best you, not be a bully, and how to get an adult's help."

September Student of The Month

37 Students were named as Whitehead students of the month for the month of September. These students were chosen due to their great work at displaying our W.H.A.L.E behaviors throughout the school week. Thanks to our PFA these students enjoyed a pizza luncheon this week as well as received a certificate of recognition. 

Each month two students will be chosen from each classroom as the student of the month.

PFA Cookie Dough Fundraiser has begun and continues until Oct. 7th

Our students listen to find out the great prizes they can earn for selling cookie dough , and pizza dough these next few weeks. Each student is being asked to sell at least one item with the goal of each student selling at least 5 items. All monies raised stay right here to help our school .

Mr. Squires, 5th grade teacher, and two 6th graders participate in a contest to see who can eat the cookie fastest .

All fundraiser orders and money are due back to JWES on or before October 7th.

The funds will be used to pay for a PE teacher and for increasing technology in our classrooms. So please support our fundraiser. Your support helps make our school even better for each and every student.
