Second Grade Supply List

1. $20 classroom fee for supplies and activities

2. 5” x 13” School Box – no handles, no substitutions, please. Note: these are larger than standard pencil boxes

3. Pack of Crayons (16 or 24 crayons)

4. Scissors

5. Package of Colored Pencils

6. 2 Pocket Folders

7. White Glue (4 oz. ) and 2 Glue Sticks

8. One box of Tissues

9. Package of Markers – (No more than 12)

10. Package of 4 Dry Erase Markers with Eraser

11. 1Highlighter–anycolor

12. Extra pencils and erasers for classroom supply

13. Backpack

Please do not buy large binders or notebooks: they will not fit into student desks. Please write your child’s name on coats, sweatshirts, etc.

1 plastic school box (8x41⁄2 inches-no bigger please) 1 box of Crayola crayons ~ 16 or 24 count
1 package of glue sticks
1 package (4) EXPO dry erase markers with eraser 1 4 oz. Elmer’s Glue All (not School Glue) Fiskars Scissors – blunt point please
1 package of #2 pencils

1 backpack – NO ROLLERS PLEASE 1 large box of Kleenex to share with the class

$20.00 for classroom publications and activities

If you would like to send in a container of Clorox/Lysol Sanitizing Wipes or Gel Hand Sanitizer that would be great!

First grade desks are very small. Please do not send any additional supplies, as we do not have room to store them.

Kindergarten Supply List

•   A standard backpack (no mini backpacks or suitcases) Please label with their first/last name

•   One lunch box labeled with first and last name

•   One small box of 24 crayons

•   One 4oz. bottle of Elmer’s glue

•   6-12 Elmer’s glue sticks

•   2 big pink erasers

•   2 black expo markers

•   Box of gallon size bags with sliding Ziploc

•   1-2 reams of white Xerox paper.

•   $20 to be used for the first field trip and supply/pencil

  boxes that have already been purchased for them.

•   One big box of crackers or other snack item for our

  community snack. This could be: graham crackers; animal crackers; Teddy Grahams; Cheez-Its; goldfish; wheat thins; Ritz crackers; saltine crackers; fruit snacks; Craisins; raisins; etc. Please no cookies or candy.

•   Stickers

  Students with last name ending A-G Box of sandwich size baggies that fold Box of Kleenex

  Students with last names ending H-R A package brown lunch bags
  A box of Fun band-aids

  Students with last names ending S-Z
  Box of #2 pencils (these could be themed) A bag of cotton balls.

Granite Construction spent the day with Whitehead students teaching us about safety, construction projects and equipment. Then we topped it off with a BBQ lunch outside.

Celebrating "Student of The Year" at JWES

What an great assembly on Thursday . Our whole school came together to recognize one student per class who was chose as the Student of The Year. The beautiful part of this celebration, was that with each story I read, and each name I called out, the entire student body erupted into applause and cheers, and yes even some tears of happiness. What a wonderful example of how special all of our Whitehead students are !

9-11:30 Granite Day: Granite Construction Presentations to all grades 
11:30-12:30 Granite BBQ : each student will need to buy hot lunch for $2.50 to get the hot dog or hamburger hot lunch, or students may bring their own cold lunch from home
1:45-2:45 Staff vs. 6th graders Softball game

Mon. June 3rd
1:30 6th grade Celebration Ceremony in cafeteria ( due to the small size of cafe, no JWES siblings please )

Tues. June 4th
9:30 Kinder Celebration Ceremony for AM and PM classes in cafeteria (due to the small size of cafe, no JWES siblings please)

Yearbook Day distribution day 

Wed. June 5th
9:00-11:30 JWES Field Day: wear sneakers,and sunscreen, bring water bottles (parent volunteers are appreciated)

12:50 Student Early Release 
            Sent home with each child : final report card, Year long MAP assessment scores, supply list for 2013-14 school year

Last Day of School June 5th

The last day of school for Whitehead K-6th grade students is Wednesday, June 5th. It is a half day with a 12:50 student release:

Kindergarten hours that day are:
AM class = 9:00-10:30
PM class = 11:20-12:50


1st-6th grade hours that day are:
9:00 -12:50
